Loads of Man Utd fans delighted with Fabrizio Romano’s Andreas Pereira update

Lazio’s reported interest in out-of-favour midfielder Andreas Pereira has elicited a positive reaction within the Manchester United fanbase.

Pereira is one of few players yet to feature under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season and is surely primed for an exit before the October 5 deadline.

And according to top transfer expert Fabrizio Romano’s latest twitter update, Lazio have opened talks to sign the 24-year-old in this transfer window.

Romano notes that Pereira is considered an ‘option’ by the Serie A giants but negotiations are at a preliminary stage between the two clubs.

Pereira, alongside plenty other forlorn United stars, is on borrowed time at Old Trafford and has failed to capitalise on countless chances offered to him during Solskjaer’s reign.

The arrival of versatile Dutchman Donny van de Beek makes Pereira’s route back into the first-team even more challenging and there’s a sense of inevitability around his future.

It remains unclear if Pereira would be looking to seal a loan or temporary exit, but surely it would suit all parties if he was sold.

There has never been any question marks over Pereira’s commitment to the cause in a United shirt. But the lingering confusion surrounding his best position and his lack of quality in decisive moments proves he should be moved on.

A fresh challenge at an accomplished Lazio side would aid Pereira’s career more than fighting for a place in Solskjaer’s matchday squad at Old Trafford.
