Lazio open talks with Manchester United to sign Andreas Pereira

Lazio have opened talks with Manchester United to sign Andreas Pereira, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The reputable hack claims the Brazil international is considered as an “option” at the Serie A club, but talks with United have just started.

It’s still too early to get excited about this deal but it’s a good sign when clubs are reportedly interested in players like Pereira, who United wouldn’t be against selling.

United have done such little business this summer — signing just one player thus far — and we’ve already questioned whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s hands are being tied. Could there be a strict policy in place outlining that signings won’t be made unless players are sold?

It’s the only way I can make sense of this.

Moreover, Lazio would be a good move for Pereira.

Lazio are a decent side who finished 4th in Serie A last season, managed by Simone Inzaghi, and they managed to beat Cagliari 2-0 on Saturday.

Who would have thought Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could join forces with Pereira without having to join Manchester United? I’m sure the Serb will be delighted with the news.
