Leeds want Manchester United winger on loan

Leeds United really want Daniel James.

We all know the story (via Telegraph) about how they missed out on signing James when he was playing for Swansea in the Championship, only to join Manchester United months later, but it sounds like they haven’t given up on the Welsh winger.

James had an okay first season at United. He started his chapter at Old Trafford really strongly, but his form faded as the season went on.

The Wales international made 33 Premier League appearances last season and I am not under the impression Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had that many games planned for one of his first signings as United boss.

He’s still a young player with plenty of potential but will he ever be good enough to start for United? I don’t think Solskjaer will give up on him this quick, it’s only been a year, and the Manchester Evening News claims United have no interest in allow such a move.

The Mirror’s David Anderson claims Leeds want James on loan.

Their interest doesn’t come as a surprise but they hardly think we’d loan James out when we lack depth in the right-wing department.

United’s rivals have apparently cooled their interest in Liverpool’s Harry Wilson to focus on the former Swansea winger.

Hopefully United get a winger before the transfer deadline… we are hearing that a relatively unknown young prospect could be on his way to Old Trafford.
