Manchester United start their Premier League campaign at home against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want to see his players get off to a winning start against the Eagles after been given an extended break.
Still, it wasn’t much of a break and we have little idea of what levels the players are at currently because they only had one pre-season match, losing 1-0 away at Aston Villa last weekend.
As noted by Manchester United’s official website, summer signing Donny van de Beek is available for selection after starting in last week’s friendly against Villa, but Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe miss out due to injuries.
Surprise, surprise.
Solskjaer has no irregular injuries to worry about as he starts the new season.
Self-proclaimed Injury Analyst Ben Dinnery says Solskjaer hinted that neither Luke Shaw or Paul Pogba are ready for 90 minutes of football.
Dean Henderson and David De Gea are vying for the goalkeepers jersey as Sergio Romero has been given "extra time" away. Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba are both available for selection but Solskjaer hints that neither is ready for 90 minutes. #MUFC

With that in mind, I wouldn’t be surprised if Donny van de Beek started along with Bruno Fernandes, with Pogba coming on as a planned second half substitute. Only time will tell.
