Alexis Sanchez launches scathing attack on former club Man United

Biggest flop in history Alexis Sanchez has launched an unbelievable attack on his former club Man United by claiming he asked his agent after just the first day as a Red Devil if he could rip his contract up and return to Arsenal.

Sanchez, 31, joined United from Arsenal in January 2018 in a famous Premier League transfer which saw midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan go the way.

The attacker’s time at United never really got going after he managed to score just five goals in 45 appearances. Sanchez was unable to recapture his earlier Premier League form which Arsenal fans had enjoyed, especially in the 2016-17 season which saw him bag 24 domestic goals.

The South American’s transfer will go down as one of the worst in history after United reportedly paid the Chilean an eye-watering £560,ooo-per week including bonuses, as per Daily Mail.

In light of Sanchez’s recent permanent deal to Italian club Inter Milan, the Chilean has taken to his social media to slam his former club by claiming that he asked his agent if he could leave after just one day under former boss Jose Mourinho.

During Sanchez’s stunning attack, as quoted by Daily Mail, he said: “I want to tell you about my period at United, about many things that were said and that made me look bad.

“I got the opportunity to go to United and it seemed tempting to me. It was something nice for me, because when I was a kid I liked that club a lot.

“I ended up signing without much information about what was happening in the move. The first days that I was with my colleagues, sometimes there are things that you do not realise until you arrive.

‘The first training I had I realised many things. home and I told my representative: “Can’t the contract be terminated to return to Arsenal?”

‘They start laughing and I told them that something did not sit right with me. It had already been signed.”

Sanchez went onto recall a time when United had a match against West Ham which ex-manager Mourinho opted against starting the attacker, he said: “In a game with West Ham I wasn’t picked. That had never happened to me as a player. It bothered me and I said it couldn’t be possible.

‘To go from being one of the best in the Premier League to not playing in five months. I came to my house and I was very sad. The next day I trained in a double shift, because I love what I do.”

Mourinho’s time at United was also cut short after the Portuguese manager got the boot just a few months after the game against West Ham.

Sanchez went onto explain how current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival signalled the end of his disastrous United playing career, he said:  ‘Then the next coach arrived, the current one, and I decided to talk to him. I told him that I needed to take a breather, and the opportunity to go to Inter. He told me that yes, there was no problem.”

Sanchez’s comments come in light of a recent claim from journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft that Solskjaer has held talks with world-class midfielder Thiago Alcantara but the potential transfer is being held up by his wage demands.
