Ready for an outlandish rumour? We’ve got one.
Manchester United are the club most likely to sign Lionel Messi IF the Argentine decides to leave Barcelona this summer.
The update comes from Deportes Cuatro in Spain who were giving an update on Messi’s future.
It suggests United have already put the wheels in motion to sign the Barcelona talisman.
Speculation over Messi’s future is hardly a surprise with Barca in a transitional period, but let’s be serious about this… If United are struggling to cough up the money Borussia Dortmund are demanding for Jadon Sancho, do you think they’d pay more for a 33-year-old?

Messi was outspoken over the club’s capitulation in the La Liga title race last month, as per El Chiringuito, so it remains to be seen what he wants to do in the coming weeks.
🔴🎙MESSI: “Ya dije que si seguíamos así no nos daba para la Champions y no nos ha dado ni para La Liga”.

Stretty News verdict
I find it hard to believe in any reports linking Messi with a move away from Camp Nou this summer. There aren’t enough solid reports to back it up but if he leaves Barcelona and terminates his contract, why shouldn’t we chance our arm? Ha!
