Dean Henderson future remains unsolved after loan spell ends at Sheffield United

The future of Dean Henderson remains unsolved.

Sportsmail understands Manchester United are are likely to persist with David de Gea between the sticks next season.

Henderson’s camp held talks with United two weeks ago but nothing has been decided as of yet.

The problem for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is he doesn’t have room for three senior goalkeepers in his squad with De Gea, Henderson and Sergio Romero. It is thought that Henderson will go out on loan again.

Henderson, 23, will have his eyes on England’s Euro 2021 squad so he will need to be playing games every week when the new season begins — just like he’s done for Sheffield United in the past two seasons.

The new Premier League season begins on September 12 and Henderson is said to be relaxed about the situation. While United are not averse to the young keeper rejoining Sheffield United they would prefer to loan him to a foreign team.

Even though De Gea had a difficult season it looks like Solskjaer will stand by his man.
