Man United five-man summer transfer shortlist revealed

Manchester United have reportedly settled on a five-man summer transfer shortlist which features two central midfielders, two wingers and a centre-back.

The Reds have been relentlessly linked with a host of players already this summer, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho widely regarded as the priority.

However, among Sancho, United are believed to looking for a centre-back to add quality to an overstretched back-line as the likes the Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe continually fight for fitness.

In addition to a new centre-back, the club are also rumoured to be interested in a central midfielder with Ajax’s Donny Van de Beek, as per Express.

However, in a report this week by Evening Standard, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has drawn up a five-man summer transfer shortlist which as well as containing Sancho and Van de Beek also lists Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman and 2019 summer target Matthijs de Ligt.

It goes without saying that signing all five targets is virtually impossible given their valuations, however, Solskjaer will be keen to make at least two acquisitions as his side prepare for life back in the illustrious Champions League next season.

C’mon, don’t be shy. Get the cheque book out, Ed.
