Manchester United fans are preemptively welcoming the arrival of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho after a Champions League spot was secured against Leicester City.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were 2-0 victors in a nervy encounter at the King Power Stadium, ensuring a third place finish in the Premier League.
United’s qualification for Europe’s elite competition makes Old Trafford a far more attractive transfer destination, and the club will be boosted financially by their inclusion.
Sancho has been the player most United fans would love to see Solskjaer prioritise this summer and it has been reported that a lack of Champions League football may have been a deal breaker in the transfer.
As noted by the Independent, negotiations between United and Dortmund for Sancho’s signature would have been complicated if the Reds had missed out on a top four spot.
But United can now go full steam ahead in their pursuit of the England international in the knowledge that they can offer him the chance to play against the biggest teams across Europe next season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is building something exciting at United and the chance to create one of the most exciting attacking quartets in England alongside Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial will surely be appealing.
Stretty News will keep you up to date with all the inevitable developments relating to the Sancho transfer saga in the coming weeks and months.
