Angel Gomes’ transfer plan following Manchester United exit amid Chelsea links

Angel Gomes is weighing up his options ahead of his next move following his departure from Manchester United.

Gomes, 19, was one of 10 players released by United on the expiry of his contract on Tuesday, with many fans left frustrated that the club could not tie down the diminutive playmaker to a long-term deal.

As reported by the Independent, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was keen to keep Gomes at the club, but the teenager decided to seek a future elsewhere after rejecting a £25,000 per-week contract.

The Independent‘s report claims Chelsea are one of the clubs that were willing to offer better financial terms for United’s youngest debutant since 1953.

But according to the Manchester Evening News, Gomes is targeting a move abroad instead in the search of first-team game time.

The MEN report that club in Portugal, France, Spain and Germany have registered an interest in Gomes, who made just three starts for United this term.

Gomes joined United’s academy aged six and has been regarded as one of the most exciting prospects to emerge through the youth ranks in the last decade.

It’s therefore a shame that he has not had the chance to fulfil his career at Old Trafford but we will follow his next move closely and wish him the best in his future endeavours.
