Harry Maguire’s impressive stats from captain’s performance against Norwich City

Harry Maguire proved to be the unlikely match-winner as Manchester United scraped through to the FA Cup semi-finals with an extra-time victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road.

Maguire can be one of just a few of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s players that can be genuinely pleased with their individual efforts in a game where United lacked any fluidity to their play.

Perhaps United’s sluggishness is down to the eight changes made by Solskjaer from the side that dismantled Sheffield United in the mid-week.

But the Reds eventually got over the line, after spending almost all of extra-time camped in Norwich’s half against a 10 man opposition defence.

United got their winner through Maguire, who seized his chance with an instinctive left-footed finish with just two minutes remaining.

The England international was arguably United’s best player on a day where many frustrated. He made a crucial block to prevent Norwich taking the lead and always looked to take the initiative in possession.
