Four of Manchester United’s summer transfer targets have been revealed

Manchester United must prioritise attacking reinforcements this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer presses ahead with rebuilding a squad that is capable of challenging for the Premier League title.

The Reds proved in their 11 game unbeaten run before football hit pause that their defence has become almost watertight, as they shipped just two goals.

Newly instated captain Harry Maguire is the leader Solskjaer has bene crying out for in the heart of his defence and Aaron Wan-Bissaka has solved the long-standing issue at right-back with his unique defending ability.

Solskjaer is also fortunate to have plenty of midfielders to choose from with Nemanja Matic recently committing his future to the club for a further year and Paul Pogba looking increasingly likely to stay for at least another season.

United look a far more potent attacking force with new signing Bruno Fernandes in attacking midfield, and have the opportunity to enhance their creative options further in the summer transfer market due to their enviable financial position.

And according to ESPN, United have identified four attacking targets that they are focusing their attention on.

Of course, one of the targets is Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho who has been widely reported as United’s priority signing. Sancho offers the perfect solution to the void on the right-flank and would complete a frightening front three alongside Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

Meanwhile, versatile Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish is mentioned as another name on Solskjaer’s wish list. Grealish appears an attainable target this summer given the uncertainty of his boyhood club’s Premier League status and a desire to take the next step in his career.

Solskjaer also requires a natural goalscorer to provide healthy competition for Martial and they don’t come much more prolific than the targets mentioned in ESPN’s report.

It is claimed Lyon’s Moussa Dembele and RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner are both being monitored closely at Old Trafford. Werner, 24, appeared destined for a move to Liverpool but it is claimed United are ready to rival their bitterest rivals for the forward’s signature.

Dembele, meanwhile, scored 16 goals in 24 Ligue 1 appearances this term and offers pace and a clinical edge on the counter-attack. He could also add another dimension to United in attack with his proficiency in the air.

We think United fans would be excited to see any of these four promising talents arrive at Old Trafford this summer.
