Ryan Giggs won 13 Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues, four FA Cups and four League Cups throughout his 23-year career at Manchester United.
The most decorated footballer in English football history.
However, that hasn’t stopped a Twitter user trying to prove that Giggs was an overrated player.

United fans quickly leapt to the defender of their legend — not that they really needed to, because anyone that knows a thing or two about football could tell that the Twitter user in question is talking from his rear-end!
The account is named @ballrespect, ironically because they clearly have little respect for one of the greatest players the Premier League has seen.
Their thread began by outlining “Ryan ‘longevity merchant’ Giggs. The most overrated premier league player of all time.”
United supporters were quick to respond.

“If it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have won the treble and he’s always been in Utd’s starting line up for 23 years.” –
The above point isn’t completely true, because Gary Neville recently explained that he got Man Utd captaincy after Roy Keane’s departure as Sir Alex Ferguson was busy rotating Giggs in and out of the side at the time. But absolutely bang on re: the treble.

“While he was winning 13 premier league titles, THIRTEEN, you’d expect him to get found out somewhere along the way wouldn’t you? I’d love to know if any of his teammates in the three different teams that he won it with thought they were carrying him.”

“Really strange decision by Ferguson to pick an average player for 23 years. Somehow they even managed to win 13 titles while carrying him.”

This won’t be news to anyone but Twitter is a weird place. It’s excellent how as it allows us all to have a voice; however, some people’s views are so blinkered that they just invite verbal attacks.
Such was the case above.
It’s probably the worst thread I have seen on Twitter, and that’s saying something!
