Odion Ighalo makes intentions clear with replies to Manchester United fans

Odion Ighalo has confirmed his desire to remain at Manchester United beyond his short-term loan spell from Shanghai Shenhua.

The Nigerian striker’s current deal at Old Trafford runs out on June 30th, but there may well be an extension until whenever the current season finishes amid the the coronavirus pandemic.

As it stands, Ighalo would be free to leave the club when his loan spell expires, but there is yet to be an official announcement from FIFA as to what will happen with player contracts.

But boyhood United fan Ighalo clearly wants to stay at his dream club, as he entertained fans with a large question and answer session on his twitter account.

Ighalo replied to two separate fans, hinting in one that he could make his move from China permanent come the end of the season.

While Ighalo’s addition was more luck than judgement with a desperate deadline day move in January, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has uncovered a striker happy to provide an understudy and willing to give it all for his club.

His goal tally of four in eight games in all competitions has been impressive, and he has given Solskjaer a glimpse of how his team could transform with a natural centre forward in his long-term rebuild.
