How Man Utd youngster Brandon Williams changed Solskjaer’s plans for the summer

The emergence of Brandon Williams this season has made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer change his mind about signing a new left-back, according to The Sun.

The 19-year-old only broke into the first-team this term and has impressed time and time again. Now Solskjaer wants to put more trust into the young Englishman, who has made 22 appearances for the club this season.

Moreover, Williams is having a positive influence on Luke Shaw, despite the more experience left-back being left out of the team a couple of times this term as the manager would opt for the younger option.

Shaw had to up his game and he was really finding his feet before the Premier League was suspended over the coronavirus pandemic. Let’s how he’s able to stay fit whilst being away from Carrington and having no matches to play for the foreseeable future.

Williams’ performances have now reportedly stopped the Red Devils from looking to sign a new left-back, as they now believe they have adequate competition for Shaw, and I couldn’t agree more.

The Sun state that Solskjaer has already held talks with Williams over next season, telling him that he won’t be going out on loan, which will come as no surprise.

It’s amazing to think not long ago left-back was an area that warranted concern for United. Ever since the days of Patrice Evra.
