Strettycast: Transfer talk – Grealish must mature quickly to get United move

The latest episode of Strettycast is now available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

We have also made the podcast available on YouTube, so some of you will be happy to see the return of Stretty News TV. For now that channel will feature every podcast and an increase in subscribers may see us do more video content as well.

On this week’s show I am joined by Mike Knight and Conor Gates to discuss transfers in a period of uncertainty.

The Premier League has been suspended for the foreseeable future. While the last scheduled date for return was the end of April, we can’t see it being safe to hold games then either, so this is likely to drag on longer. And we don’t know what that means for the transfer window this summer…

Still, we can’t ignore the reports and there’s been a lot published about Manchester United.

Jack Grealish and James Maddison have been linked with the club for months, but both have had incidents off the pitch that they wish didn’t happen (or wish they weren’t caught). For Grealish this is more serious because he committed a crime, and that may jeopardise his potential switch from Aston Villa to United.

Rumours surrounding Matthijs de Ligt’s future are doing the rounds again, despite the fact he only joined Juventus last summer, amid interest from Barcelona and United.

The Netherlands centre-back has struggled in his first season at Juve and the Italians could look to cashing in when the transfer window reopens.
