Odion Ighalo would reportedly be willing to half his current wages to make his transfer to Manchester United permanent at the end of the season.
The Nigerian striker was initially brought in as a necessary back-up option for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who was left bereft of attacking options after Romelu Lukaku was not replaced and Marcus Rashford suffered a double stress fracture in his back.
But, so far, Ighalo has taken every chance given to him by Solskjaer at his dream club, netting four times for the Reds in three starts.
His impressive form is raising the question over whether the club would be keen to make his short loan deal from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua permanent at the end of the season.

According to the Mirror, the Reds could secure the permanent transfer of the 30-year-old for £15m this summer.
Given the spending power of United, this wouldn’t be a bad deal for a player who can push the regular first-team starters and add more experience to the club’s youthful ranks.
As reported by the Sun, United have the option to buy Ighalo at the end of his loan deal, and the striker would be willing to take a £120,000 per-week pay cut in his wages to seal his dream move.
Ighalo currently earns a staggering £240,000-per-week in Shanghai but would be happy to halve his wages to make the transfer possible.
