(Video) Solskjaer explains why Odion Ighalo is not starting against Club Brugge

Odion Ighalo will have to wait to make his first Manchester United start after being selected on the bench this evening.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made six changes to his starting eleven to face Club Brugge in the Europa League tie, with several key players from the Chelsea victory on Monday rested.

Sergio Romero starts in goal, with Victor Lindelof coming back into the starting eleven after a recent illness.

Diogo Dalot starts at right-wing back with Andreas Pereira and Juan Mata returning to the side in midfield.

Many had expected 30-year-old Ighalo to make his first start for the Reds this evening but Anthony Martial instead retains his place.

Solskjaer explained in his pre-match interview that the Nigerian will make an appearance from the bench, as Mason Greenwood was supposed to be the starting striker this evening.

But Greenwood is unwell and Martial has again been given the chance to shine in the number 9 role.

We expect Ighalo to come on quite early in the game as Solskjaer will have one eye on Sunday’s league game against Watford.
