It looked like we might have to endure yet another transfer window filled with rumours but no real action, so it’s a welcome change to see a big name transfer seemingly close to completion.

Of course we shouldn’t fully believe everything until the ink is dry and the player is pictured in the shirt, but the United website officially confirmed that an agreement had been reached with Sporting for the transfer of Bruno Fernandes.

It’s worth pointing out that they do say he still needs to agree personal terms and complete a medical, but this image shows that he’s on his way to Manchester just now:

Everything about him suggests he’s exactly what the team needs right now. He scored more than 30 goals last season and already has double figures for goals and assists this campaign, so he could help transform the midfield.

It’s not just the stats though, he was the captain at Sporting and behaved impeccably when all of these rumours started kicking off, so hopefully he can lead the team as well.

As long as nothing goes wrong in the final stages here, he could be a fantastic player to watch for United
