Rio Ferdinand urges Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola to let Man Utd midfielder speak out

Rio Ferdinand held a Q and A session on this twitter on Friday where he discussed a number of issues concerning Manchester United.

When asked about Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola’s recent comments criticising the club’s hierarchy, the United great said that he needs to let the Frenchman speak publicly about his situation at Old Trafford.

Rio is clearly as frustrated as the rest of us about the confusion surrounding Pogba’s future at the club.

Pogba had expressed a desire to leave in the summer, and this season has been somewhat of a non-event for the midfielder with his constant struggles with injuries.

He clearly remains Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s best midfielder at the club, which he showed glimpses of during his recent cameos against Watford and Newcastle.

But the United boss confirmed he is now set to have an operation on his ankle and will be out for another four weeks at least.

While it would be welcome, we don’t expect Pogba to come out and clarify his future as it seem unlikely he would commit in the long-term to United and he will be keeping his options option ahead of a possible summer move.

Pogba and Scott McTominay’s injury layoffs mean that United have no choice but to act and reinforce their squad this month. The depleted midfield desperately needs addressing and Solskjaer needs to be backed by the board to acquire his desired targets.
