Report: Man Utd reject two Real Madrid players in exchange for Paul Pogba

Manchester United have turned down the chance to sign James Rodriquez and Gareth Bale in exchange for Paul Pogba, it has been claimed in Spain.

That’s according to El Desmarque (via Manchester Evening News) as it looks like Man Utd will continue to push a hardline stance on keeping the French midfielder who is under contract until 2021.

It suggests that Zinedine Zidane has not given up on his attempts to lure Pogba to the Bernabeu and that the two players proposed to the Red Devils wouldn’t fit into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans as United are reportedly uninterested in what’s being offered.

There’s no way United would turn their nose up at Bale in his prime, but he turns 31 in the coming year and has a dreadful injury record.

Rodriquez, on the other hand, is the type of player United should be trying to sign. A playmaker with an eye for exquisite through balls and, of course, goals as well.

We’d think a lot different about a proposal if it included midfield duo Casemiro and Fede Valverde.

But would Real Madrid go that far for Pogba?
