Former Manchester United star striker Robin van Persie has sent a funny message accusing Mason Greenwood of copying his playing style.
The comparison has been made by many, including ourselves, with youngster Greenwood using a very similar technique to Van Persie when it comes to striking the ball.
As Gary Neville pointed out on his Sky Sports podcast, Greenwood doesn’t snatch at opportunities like other players. He included Jesse Lingard and Daniel James in his assessment.

It looks like Man Utd have an absolute star in the making on their hands and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must ensure he nurtures Greenwood’s talents through development.

Greenwood may need to work on the physical side of his game in order to improve his holding up of possession, but like Van Persie he is tall, skilful and has a great left foot.
