Real Madrid set to offer Man Utd £68.5m in player-plus-cash deal for Paul Pogba

Real Madrid are ready to continue their pursuit of Paul Pogba after being linked with the Manchester United midfielder for a number of years, according to a report.

The France international opened the door for a move to the Bernabeu this year when he said he was ready for a new challenge. Real Madrid spent big on Eden Hazard as their big summer buy and it was always thought they’d return to the Premier League pool of stars for Pogba the following year.

Moreover, United stood firm on their stance that the World Cup winner wasn’t for sale. Either that or Madrid wouldn’t have to cough up a significant amount more than they were willing to.

But Madrid are ready to test United’s resolve once again with a cash plus player offer including Spanish player Isco, according to Spanish outlet Eldesmarque (via Daily Star).

The 27-year-old doesn’t fit Zinedine Zidane’s style of play as he struggles to get game time this season, only making seven appearances since the beginning of the campaign.

Now it is reported that the La Liga giants are willing to go for Pogba again with £68.5m in cash and Isco.

Isco’s stance on his future is unknown but he might not be too arsed about not fitting into Zidane’s plans when the manager’s own future is up in the air at the moment. He would be a younger alternative than Juan Mata and an update on Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira, but United’s transfer links to James Maddison are strong and we think the Red Devils will go for the Leicester City star instead when the summer transfer window opens.

Pogba is currently out with an ankle injury and we wouldn’t be surprised if these were his final months at Old Trafford.
