Daniel Farke explains how Norwich missed out on Man Utd signing

Daniel James has been terrific since joining Manchester United from Swansea City.

I don’t think anyone expected him to hit the ground running so fast — being 21-years-old and coming from the Championship.

In his first nine Premier League appearances, the Welsh winger has scored three goals. Compare that to his tally in the Championship last season (4 goals in 33 games) and it shows proof that United have an improving player on their hands.

Manchester Evening News reporter Samuel Luckhurst hyped James up earlier this tweet, with a tweet highlighting his impressive stats:

Norwich manager Daniel Farke spoke about James in his pre-match press conference this afternoon, ahead of United’s trip to Carrow Road.

Farke has always been a fan of James and even hinted that Norwich tried to sign the player, but it was too late with United getting in early.

“I’m not surprised by how good James has been,” he said, as quoted by the Norwich City website. “I always liked him, but sadly there was no chance for us to get him when Man United called! To deliver that quickly on this level says a lot about his character.”

We’re really impressed by James this season. He often gets kicked to bits by opposing defends but had a great attitude to get back up and keep going.

You can tell teams don’t like playing against the nimble attacker. The sky is the limit for him now.
