Gary Neville slams departing Man Utd star for being unprofessional

A brief Twitter exchange took place after respected journalist Andy Mitten posted about Romelu Lukaku’s time at Manchester United, ahead of his summer transfer to Inter Milan.

The editor of United We Stand had hoped Lukaku would become a great striker for the club and puts the fact he wasn’t down to not playing in a great Manchester United team.

Lukaku had a promising first season but began to fade away and lost his place to Marcus Rashford.

Aged 26, Lukaku could have fought for his place in the team but he only stuck it out for the end of last season.

This summer he has gone AWOL by not turning up for training twice this week, instead showing up for former club Anderlecht despite United being the club currently paying his wages.

Gary Neville was less lenient in his response to Mitten on Twitter.

“Andy he admitted he was overweight! He is over 100kg! He’s a Manchester United player! He will score goals and do well at Inter Milan but unprofessionalism is contagious!”
