Loads of Man Utd fans demand replacement amid imminent Lukaku exit

Manchester United have finally reached an agreement with Inter Milan for the sale of Romelu Lukaku.

According to the Guardian, the fee for the Belgian will be around £70m plus add-ons, around what the Reds signed him for from Everton.

Lukaku was said to be desperate to join Antonio Conte’s side, and a deal has finally been reached on the penultimate day of the transfer window.

The report claims the 26-year-old is set to earn around £300,000 per-week, and will sign a five-year deal at the club.

The Belgian international’s exit makes sense as he did not fit into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s fluid system and was clearly disillusioned at the club.

It’s encouraging to see the Reds get rid of a player who was surplus to requirements at an acceptable price, but surely a replacement needs to be signed with the money obtained through the sale.

Lukaku still had a reasonable goal record at United, and it will be struggle if Solskjaer goes into the season relying on Marcus Rashford to score all the goals.

Another forward addition is still needed to take the pressure off Rashford’s shoulders in leading the forward line, regardless of Mason Greenwood’s rise into the first-team.
