Solskjaer delighted with ‘lovely’ team goal as young Man Utd stars impress against Leeds

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Reds put in another convincing performance at the Optus Stadium, this time easing to a 4-0 victory over Championship outfit Leeds United.

Solskjaer once again named two entirely different sides for each half, and both teams impressed in a comfortable evening for the Reds.

Marcus Rashford scored the pick of the United goals, making a Leeds defender look silly before showing his composure to slot home.

Mason Greenwood, Phil Jones and Anthony Martial were also all on the score sheet on a pleasing night for Solskjaer.

Greenwood, 17, particularly impressed the Norwegian:

“We know he’s capable of scoring goals, we’ve seen it in training over the last six months. I’m not worried about him. Obviously he needs to build his body, get ready for men’s football, which we will gradually do and he will become a very, very good player,” Solskjaer told MUTV as quoted by MEN.

Speaking about Greenwood’s opener, Solskjaer added:

Lovely move, quality of pass, weight of pass, great run by Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] and strikers who get poacher’s goals are always nice to see… the second goal as well, I liked the counter-attack, we know we’re a threat with the pace we’ve got up front. The quality in that attack was high as well.”
