(Watch) Pogba is the right player at the wrong time for Man Utd, says ESPN reporter

ESPN FC’s Mark Ogden discusses Paul Pogba’s future at Old Trafford amid growing exit links.

The conversation starts with Ogden hearing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer only has £100m to spend this summer.

However, United know they need to sell players as much as they need to buy, so perhaps Solskjaer has been told that’s the amount he can spend before any departures take place.

Of course, that’s wishful thinking. The Glazers will continue to penny-pitch and drain the commercial cash cow.

That brought the debate towards selling one of United’s big names and Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and David de Gea have all been linked with summer moves.

Odgen sounds adamant that Lukaku will leave whereas Pogba is “the right player at the wrong time” for the Red Devils, and with three years left on his contract now might be the right time to cash in.

The point being pushed is that Pogba wants to move on. Ogden wonders if he’ll ever turn up for pre-season training, a method used by other players to force through a transfer.

Pogba’s time back at United has been underwhelming. His quality cannot be denied but if he leaves now, he leaves with unfinished business and I thought that was why he returned in the first place.
