Done deal: Man Utd set to sign highly-rated Spanish wonderkid from Real Zaragoza

Manchester United have signed young Spanish attacker Mateo Mejia, according to the Sun.

The report states that the Reds have fought off interest from rivals in both England and La Liga for the Zaragoza winger.

Mejia, 16, is expected to cost an initial £600,000, and will be looking to impress in the youth ranks at Old Trafford next season.

This transfer is a sign of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking ahead to the future in securing some of Europe’s most promising talent. Solskjaer’s transfer policy is bringing in young talented stars according to the report, and the signing of Mejia certainly fits the bill in the long-term rebuilding process.

Elsewhere, United have still only made one signing that will play for the first-team next season. Fans are becoming increasingly frustrated that only Daniel James has been officially announced so far. Solskjaer was expecting all his business to be done before the start of pre-season on 1st of July.

United face Perth Glory on the 13th of July before a game against rivals Leeds on July 17th on their summer tour of Australia.
