Manchester United are still being used in headlines to find a buyer for Philippe Coutinho it seems.
In January, it was the worst transfer rumour to do the rounds and we’re still seeing whispers in the gossip columns.
According to Spanish outlet AS, the former Liverpool playmaker would prefer a move to PSG this summer over any chance to join United.
Are we supposed to lose sleep over it?
The Red Devils should try playing Juan Mata as a no 10 next season, even if it means sacrificing Paul Pogba in midfield since the Frenchman is forever linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
That could give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer an alternative way to set up and put United in the market next year for a younger, much quicker playmaker, which is a pretty exciting prospect.
Coutinho just doesn’t make sense. He will be overpriced and hasn’t done it consistently at Barcelona (otherwise he wouldn’t be for sale), so why would we bother?
The fact is United can do better and this Coutinho stuff has got boring.
Just six weeks until the Premier League returns…
