Man Utd target rejects new deal at club; 19-year-old star set to move

Manchester United target Ryan Sessegnon has told Fulham he will not sign a new contract this summer following his side’s relegation from the Premier League, according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports reported last month that the Reds were the first club to make contact for the young Englishman, who is reluctant to play another season of Championship football.

It now seems all but certain Sessegnon will leave Craven Cottage with just one year remaning on his contract. Tottenham, Juventus and United are all seen as potential suitors for the youngster.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to add homegrown attacking talent this summer, and have today confirmed a deal in principle to sign Welsh winger Daniel James.

Sessegnon is another exciting talent and at just 19-year old is certainly one for the future. Despite struggling in his first full season in the Premier League last campaign, Sessegnon has shown promise at both left-back and on the wing for Fulham, particularly in their promotion season two years ago. This shows the player could definitely add strength in depth to Solskjaer’s side.

However, Sky Sports’ update also states that Tottenham would be Sessegnon’s preferred destination, and the North-London side have the draw of Champions League football, and coach Mauricio Pochettinho who is renowned for improving and progressing young talent.

I would expect Sessegnon to move to Tottenham this summer given these reports, but there is no doubt that United can flex their financial muscle if they really want to sign the player.
