(Video) Juan Mata jumps to David de Gea’s defence following latest howler

Juan Mata defended David de Gea in his post-match after Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

De Gea was at fault for an absolute howler as the scores drew level.

United were leading at the time, thanks to Juan Mata who finished off a wonderfully worked goal, featuring Romelu Lukaku and Luke Shaw linking up around the penalty area.

The Reds deserved their lead and then a long-range effort cost De Gea to spill the ball. With Alonso running in on goal, there was only one outcome.

Mata made sure to remind everyone of De Gea’s heroics as United keeper down the years.

“He is unquestionable,” Mata told Sky Sports, as seen in the video below. “He has been our best player for years.”

The scorer of United’s only goal returned the starting eleven to face his former club.

It may have been one of his last games for the club with Mata’s contract set to expire this summer.

Now, top four looks very difficult. We need to many result to go in our favour and can hardly rely on ourselves at the moment!
