Questionable quote emerges to suggest Jose Mourinho took cheap shot at Paul Scholes

José Mourinho has allegedly hit back at Paul Scholes after the Manchester United legend stepped down as manager at Oldham after just 31 days.

Scholes was a critic of Mourinho during his tenure at Old Trafford and suggested that he engineered his sacking at United.

“I felt he [Mourinho] didn’t want to be there. He engineered his move away perfectly in the end. His press conferences were embarrassing, so negative, it was obviously in the end the players didn’t want to play for him. The right thing happened in the end,” Scholes said, as per Balls.ie.

Then the time came for Scholes to become manager at Oldham Athletic, but it didn’t quite turn out as expected for the former England international and he decided to step away from the role.

So Mourinho has reportedly took the opportunity to hit back at the former United midfielder, stating, “Paul Scholes criticised me when I was the manager at some of the biggest clubs in the world while he only lasted for 31 days at Oldham Athletic. Go back to the studio.”

Cheap shot or bollocks?

Scholes did a lot more good for United than Mourinho, so if there’s truth to these quotes he should pipe down a little and jog on.

However, it’s a concern that these quotes have yet to make their way onto any respect news sites, so we’re wary of the credibility… with social media the only source for now.
