Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has proven he can take a joke as well as manage Manchester United beyond this season.
At Tuesday morning’s press conference, the interim boss handed a pair of sunglasses to Guardian journalist and author Jamie Jackson in a humorous gesture about the way he wears prescription specs at press conference.
It clearly caught Solskjaer’s attention at previous press conferences.

“When the manager of the world’s biggest club teases you for wearing shades (prescription of course!) to his pressers by presenting you with a pair of sunglasses (obviously returned as no gifts accepted!!!) – fair play to OGS: who DOESNAE ADORE a sense of humour,” tweeted Jackson.

Yet again Solskjaer shows a laid-back attitude which journalists will find more pleasant in comparison to how José Mourinho turned towards the end of his tenure as United manager.
The Portuguese boss portrayed a dour demeanour towards the media and his work during his final months in charge, whereas Solskjaer has come in with a fresh mind to challenge the job at hand.
It’s certainly a trend we don’t want to change.
