FA Cup Third Round Draw: Man Utd host Reading

It’s time for Manchester United to enter the FA Cup with a home tie against Reading on the cards.

The draw (containing 64 clubs) was held at Stamford Bridge, home of the current holders Chelsea, who beat United in last season’s final, thanks to an Eden Hazard penalty.

Reading are currently 21st in the Championship and are managed by Jose Mourinho’s pal, Paul Clement, who replaced former United defender Jaap Stam earlier this year.

While the United faithful would have preferred an away trip to a ground they’ve yet to visit, Mourinho and his players should consider this an easy draw, though they’ll undoubtably make hard work of it.

United’s season is not a write off just yet. The Reds may not in the title race, League Cup or expected to go all the way in the Champions League, but the FA Cup is a chance to end the season on a high as long as you’re in it.

A good run in the cup is possible and we should definitely be aiming to set the record straight after losing last season’s final.
