Man Utd and Liverpool to enter race for £25m-rated Spanish winger

Manchester United are reportedly keen on entering the race to sign Real Madrid attacker Lucas Vazquez this summer.

Last season, Vazquez scored eight goals and recorded nine assists across all competitions, in which he made 56 appearances.

Arsenal and United are both being linked with his signature this summer as reports emerge he could leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Spanish international is contracted with the European champions until 2021 with an alleged release clause worth approximately €25 million.

Vazquez became a key part of Madrid’s squad in recent seasons under Zinedine Zidane but there are now doubts over his future following Julen Lopetegui’s appointment as boss.

Eduardo Inda, director of digital newspaper OkDiario, said: “Lucas Vazquez is facing the same temptation as Alvaro Morata and has a great offer from Arsenal and Unai Emery.

“They offer eight million net euros per season.”

Amid talk of a move to the Emirates, Madrid-based publication Marca now claim that the Reds are now front-runners. A move would make sense with Anthony Martial linked with a move from the club due to a lack of regular games.

Liverpool are also believed to be keen on the Spaniard, who could act as an alternative actuation after failing to sign Lyon talisman Nabil Fekir.
