Reds were delighted to see Eric Bailly back in action today against Watford. The Ivorian has not started a game since the Manchester derby win, so questions have been raised to why that has been the case.
In my opinion, shared by many others, Bailly is United’s best defender and a priority this summer should be to find the right partner to for him to lead our defence into next season.
Reds can only dream of a formidable partnership like Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic but those two are irreplaceable. It’s time for someone new to step up and make the role their own — hopefully alongside Bailly.
As seen above, and against Liverpool earlier this summer when Bailly pulled off a similar stunt to get away from the oppositional players, he has skills to pay the bills.
Hopefully Mourinho gets more use out of Bailly next season and selects him to start against Chelsea in the FA Cup final next weekend.
