Earlier this week, Shakhtar Donetsk captain Darijo Srna took to Instagram to reveal that his teammate Fred should be joining either Manchester City or Manchester United in the coming summer transfer market.
With Fred alongside Srna on Instagram live, the latter told viewers, as per the Metro:
“Let’s go Brazil. Champions, champions.
“Fred is now going to Manchester. Doesn’t know if City or United. Let’s know.”
Fred, a Brazil international with 7 caps, is now the focus of reports from his homeland, who aren’t going any further than what Srna previously revealed on social media.
However, according to the Telegraph, City have cooled their interested, with the Reds now seen as front runners for Fred’s signature.
There was a big match un Ukraine on Wednesday night, as Shakhtar beat Dynamo Kiev 2-0 in the cup final.
Fred, 25, could help plug the hole set to left when Michael Carrick retires this summer. The United veteran will play his last game on Sunday when the Reds hosting Watford in the final Premier League match of the 2017-18 season.
