Jose Mourinho wouldn’t stand in the way of player’s exit from Old Trafford

Anthony Martial has been strongly linked with an exit from Manchester United this summer.

The former AS Monaco winger has started only half of United’s 34 Premier League matches this season due to competition from both Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford on the left flank, and he rarely gets a chance to play up front.

Reports the past month have seen Martial linked with European super clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus. The Serie A giants are front runners should he leave Old Trafford.

According to the Sunday Times, Jose Mourinho would not get in the way of the forward leaving this summer if he so desires. But sources close to Stretty News claim it’s not a matter of Martial wanting to leave the club, it’s more so do to do with wanting more game time and his only option is to leave unless that can be promised by the manager.

The majority of United fans would see it as a mistake to let Martial leave United. The same way Mourinho regrettably left Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah leave Chelsea during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Louis van Gaal signed Martial back in 2015 in a deal that could be worth up to £58 million. United will have to make a profit on the player if they were to sell him.

Many Reds, myself included, would much prefer Martial to remain a United player.
