Clint Dempsey stunned Manchester United in stoppage time grabbing an equaliser for Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the snow.
Robin van Persie, however, scored his 22nd goal of the campaign. A beautiful cross from Tom Cleverley assisted the Dutch international heading the ball past Hugo Lloris. Although, you would have expected United to build on their goal lead but that wasn’t the case.
Ferguson must be incandescent. Sitting back on a lead, inviting the spuds to attack. De Gea again partially culpable.
Don’t think it’s a matter of inviting Spurs on and allowing them attack. When Cleverley and Kagawa were replaced, we didn’t press as hard and that granted AVB’s men more opportunities.
Regarding David de Gea… if it wasn’t for him, we would have lost 3-1 or more. Made some world class saves other keepers wouldn’t have made.
Not sure what else Man U could have done. Tottenham were the better side and used their possession to have 18 shots compared to United’s 4. This is not a great United side, but it shows their durability and never say die attitude. The fact they can almost win when they deserved to lose shows why they should win it again, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Man City will pip them again.
