After beating City and bringing them back down to reality, Manchester United went into the fourth round draw in which they got Liverpool at Anfield.
The Reds won 3-2 with Wayne Rooney scoring two and Danny Welbeck getting the other, in order to give us an early lead against the same side that beat us in the semi-final of the competition, before going on to win it, last year. In the second half, City picked up two goals thanks to Alsksander Kolarov and Sergio Aguero.
The last time United and Liverpool met in the competiton was at the start of 2011 when we beat them 1-0 at Old Trafford thanks to Ryan Giggs who scored from the spot after Dimitar Berbatov won the controversial penalty.
