Ferguson Already Planning Summer Signing

Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has admitted that he is out to land an unspecified player this summer – hopefully a creative midfielder, someone with amazing vision that’s also a goalscorer. Anyone come to mind?

Ferguson has revealed he made a bid in the January transfer window for the player, but it didn’t work out, obviously, but who could it be? Yes, we were linked with a number of brilliant players, but I’m trying to be realistic financial wise…

The greatest manager of all time didn’t give any hints to who this player is, keeping him anonymous with the media, but the United boss is fully determined to land him during the summer.

We’ve been linked with a few goalkeepers such as David De Gea, Maarten Stekelenburg and Ranger’s Allan McGregor ever since Van Der Sar announced that he will be retiring at the end of the season.

Ferguson told United Review:

Billionaire owners have introduced a new world that is turning football on its head.

For our part, we cannot afford to sit in an ivory tower. We have to face the challenge.

It is a healthy competition and it goes without saying that we will not shirk it and I don’t think we are doing so.

Although I let the transfer window shut without signing a new player, that is because we did our homework some time ago and didn’t have to rush into any emergency buying.

We had an interest in one player, and I thought we had a chance of bringing him in, but the other parties involved weren’t ready and so we have put it away until the summer.

So who could it be?
