Match Report: Manchester United 1-1 Valencia

With a chance of breaking a Champions League record Ferguson had full confidence in Ben Amos in keeping a clean sheet, by naming him in the starting 11 ahead of Tomasz Kuszczak.

Manchester United went a goal down after 32 minutes with a strike from Valencia’s Pablo Hernandez. The goal came from a mistake by Michael Carrick who again wasn’t at the races losing the ball far to many times. Carrick in my opinion just looks like a guy that’s after giving up on himself with absolutely no confidence but hopefully he gets a grip of things soon.

We seen a total different side of Anderson last night, he was absolutely brilliant in midfield. I’m not one bit happy about United’s performance but seeing Anderson score his first goal in the Stretford End is definitely something to smile about!

Berbatov himself had enough chances to win Manchester United the game but trying to be too casual about his finishing was the problem. You see players take the ball around keepers when your winning by a goal or two but doing it when your a goal behind confuses me. If Berbatov is to get the 25 goals Ferguson expects from him, he needs to master the simple things first!

After Anderson’s goal the game started to pick up and we witnessed some exciting end to end stuff. I expected another goal obviously with my “we’ll never die” attitude but the final whistle came too soon and we finished the night winners of Group C!
