Former Manchester United academy star guilty of using dead person’s blue badge

Former Manchester United academy star Ravel Morrison has been fined after he was caught using a dead person’s blue badge to park his white Audi in Manchester city centre.

Morrison has to pay almost £2,000 after admitting he bought the badge ‘off someone in Old Trafford’, which has led to a conviction of fraud, as per the Manchester Evening News.

As a result, Morrison been fined £1,000 for the offence and was ordered to pay costs of £508.32 as well as a victim surcharge of £400.

Morrison committed the offence on Bridgewater Street, near Deansgate in Castlefield, on May 22, 2022.

It is clear that Morrison was trying to pull a fast one by displaying a blue badge in the car, but the enforcement officer discovered that it actually belonged to someone who had died in the February of the previous year.

Morrison pleaded guilty to one count of fraud at Manchester Magistrates Court on Thursday, November 30.

Morrison made just three appearances for the Reds before Sir Alex Ferguson sold him to West Ham in 2012. He went on to have loan spells at Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City before signing a permanent deal at Lazio in 2015.

There was also brief spells at Sheffield United, ADO Den Haag and Derby County as Morrison became a journey man throughout his career.

Morrison is currently under contract at MLS side DC United.

It’s always been one negative story after the next, but it still annoys me that Morrison never flourished at United. What a player he could have been…
