Man Utd must engage in transfer tug of war to land €120m-rated youngster, tipped as Portugal’s future star after Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United are set to face tough competition for Benfica teenager Joao Felix, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to revolutionise his side with young talent, but now a deal for Felix is in jeopardy with a number of top clubs targeting the 19-year-old Portuguese playmaker.

Felix can play as a striker, attacking midfielder and on the right wing. His versatility would benefit United given how we possibly need to sign players in each of those positions.

But the Red Devils should go for a specialist winger for the right flank, not some makeshift option as we’ve been doing with Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard. United need someone who is able to beat his man with skill as well as pace.

However, Felix has emerged as one of the most wanted teenage stars in world football.

The Express claims United are joined by Manchester City, Juventus and Real Madrid in the race for Felix’s signature with Benfica demanding €120m.

That’s a massive fee for a player who has just broken onto the scene but people are talking about this kid as Portugal’s answer to Cristiano Ronaldo.

No pressure…
