Sheffield United are reportedly eyeing up a move for out-of-favour Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.

Rojo is yet to feature for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team this season and played his first minutes in the U23 match against Everton at Leigh Sports Village on Friday.

The Argentine outcast was not integrated with the rest of the United squad before the summer transfer window shut, but has now been named in Solskjaer’s Champions League squad for the 2020/21 campaign.

Rojo endured a poor loan spell back home with Estudiantes last season, but could be on the move again as early as January.

That’s according to The Sun, who report that the 30-year-old could be available in the next transfer window and is already attracting interest from Premier League side Sheffield United.

The Sun’s report claims Chris Wilder believes a short-term loan deal could be agreed with United for Rojo’s services.

Rojo’s United contract expires at the end of the season and playing some regular first-team football in the top division could appeal to the erratic defender as he looks to secure his next move.

Realistically, Rojo’s long-term future does not lie at Old Trafford and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Solskjaer move him on as early as January.
