Newcastle Value Lewis Hall at £60m as Man United Plot Summer Move

Newcastle United have drawn a firm line under their position on Lewis Hall, making clear they have no intention of selling the 21-year-old left-back despite Manchester United stepping up their interest in a deal this summer.

Ben Jacobs reported that United have made initial inquiries regarding Hall’s availability, while also confirming no club-to-club contact has yet taken place. According to Jacobs, there is currently no indication that Newcastle are prepared to sell.

That stance is reinforced by TEAMtalk’s Graeme Bailey, who reported on July 30 that United’s opening bid is being drafted with Newcastle valuing Hall at £60m – a fee that would make him United’s most expensive signing of the summer, ahead of the £50m spent on Andrey Santos.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the move has been internally approved at Old Trafford and that Hall is firmly on United’s list, but warned that Newcastle will make the club’s life complicated. Romano noted that Newcastle have already allowed Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali to leave, with Bruno Guimaraes expected to join Arsenal, and selling Hall on top of that is a step the club are deeply reluctant to take.

CaughtOffside, citing sources with a close understanding of the situation, said the clear message from Newcastle is that they are not open to any offers and that a formal bid does not look realistically imminent.

Hall’s contract runs until 2029, which gives Newcastle the leverage to dig in. Jacobs also reported that the club would like Hall to sign a new deal, while Hall himself is expected to seek clarity on his role under new manager Matthias Jaissle before making any decision.
