Hansi Flick has reportedly informed Marcus Rashford he would like the forward to continue with Barcelona beyond the summer window.
That’s according to Spanish journalist Helena Condis Edo (via El Partidazo de COPE), who adds that the on-loan Manchester United star ‘only wants’ to stay at Camp Nou.

💪 Flick le ha dicho que cuenta con él, que le gustaría que se quedara
🤔 Es difícil que el United acepte otra cesión, el club decidirá

United have made things as straightforward as any deal can be by including a £26 million buy option in Rashford’s terms, which can be activated in the coming weeks.

Should the Blaugrana opt against shelling out the fee, Rashford would return to United while they try to secure him a permanent move elsewhere.
Understandably, the Red Devils are entirely closed off to the prospect of sanctioning another season-long loan, despite Barcelona’s best efforts to agree such a move.
They want to cash in on the 28-year-old while his value is high, so the funds can swiftly be reinvested in a replacement.
How Rashford has fared for the Catalan giants
Rashford ended 2025/2026 with two trophies to his name after Barcelona were crowned La Liga champions and Supercopa de España winners.

He played a direct part in the former, netting a scintillating free-kick in El Clásico, with the win verifying that Real Madrid would be unable to close the gap on their rivals before the culmination of the term.
The goal took the forward’s tally to a hugely impressive 14 goals and 14 assists across all competitions, making it no surprise that Flick is so keen to keep hold of him.
Such form has also put Rashford well in contention to make Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad this week, which will see him represent England at his fifth major tournament, having missed out at Euro 2024 under Gareth Southgate.

Rashford’s England record

Manchester United are correct to hold out for the very low fee. How on earth is is that the top club in Spain can’t afford it?
Perhaps Rashford should offer to play for nothing since he is so desperate to play there..after one year his fee would be reimbursed!!!!
