David de Gea

Beneficiary of Roberto Firmino’s profligate finishing in first-half and surprisingly untroubled throughout. 6

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Dealt with the threat of the league’s best left-sided duo of Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson superbly. 8

Victor Lindelof

Justified contentious inclusion ahead of Eric Bailly with nerveless showing. Made number of crucial blocks as United kept clean sheet. 8

Harry Maguire

Many had doubts over partnership with Lindelof but he was solid again. His form has improved drastically in recent weeks. 7

Luke Shaw

Made ambitious driving runs and resolute defence caused Klopp to swap wingers in first-half. Continued nullifying Mo Salah after break in outstanding showing. 9

Scott McTominay

Did his defensive work diligently and often acted as third central defender. His importance is growing under Solskjaer. 7

Fred

Deluged and panicked by dominant Liverpool before break but was tireless throughout and his composure improved. 6

Paul Pogba

Adjusted fairly well out of position on the right. Predictably not as effective going forward and tried to force the issue but covered well for Wan-Bissaka. Smashed at Alisson in United’s best opening. 6

Bruno Fernandes

Failed to shine on his first appearance against Liverpool. Close to scoring stunning-free-kick but his effort after Shaw’s pull-back was tame. 4

Marcus Rashford

Wasteful and caught offside four times before break. Void of quality and had to play in a teammate in promising three on two scenario. 3

Anthony Martial

Was a doubt and hooked on the hour after a rather tepid showing. Standout moment was a stunning individual run in first-half. 4

Substitutes

Edinson Cavani

Provided a good focal point. 6

Mason Greenwood

Brought on too late. N/A
