United’s summer business was funnelled almost entirely into midfield, with Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba arriving to reshape the middle of the park. The left-back position went unaddressed after the Red Devils failed to land Lewis Hall, who signed a new deal at Newcastle, while Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde also slipped away.
